Colors of my brush represents a collection of paintings and drawings that I have made over the years. My inspiration is generally found in Biblical Themes and Middle Eastern culture. Some of the scenes and people are based on family relations and visited places in the past, while others are tied to passages or verses in the Bible.
In January 12th 2011 I started to post paintings and drawings. Slowly I discovered the way one can get in touch with people from all over the world. In the beginning of 2013, people from more than 75 countries visited my blog. It is really a pleasure to connect to so many different people!
The goal of this blog is mainly to share my art and to inspire those who are interested in the same themes. Since about 10 years I prefer to work with acrylic, ink, pastels or a combination of paint and several materials.
From 1975 to 1980 I studied arts at the NLO in Delft to become an art teacher. From 1980 to 2008 I worked as a teacher at several schools in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Painting and creating has always been a way to express my thoughts.
I appreciate feedback on my art and am open for assignments that are in line with the style of the art found on my blog.
