A well known verse from one of the Psalms in the Bible.
Jesus once said: ”I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary”.(John 10)
In Micah it says: “I’ll get them together in one place, like sheep in a fold, like cattle in a corral”(Micah 2:12-14)
That’s the way G’d will take of his people.
“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another”. (1John 4:11)
This is the verse friends of us choose on their wedding card.
They are getting married coming Friday and I will surprise them with this aquarel:)
In this house my husband spend his youth with his family.
It was build in one night, with the help of many people and lasted over 30 years.
This picture in water-colour brings back happy memories of childhood, friendship and hospitality.
This well used to be in the garden in front of the ‘gecekondu’ of my parents-in-law in Ankara. Whoever was thirsty could come and drink water from this well.
In the same way we can come to G’d when we are thirsty. As it is written in Isaiah: “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! (Isaiah 55:1)
Iris is the Greek name for Rainbow.
When I see this flower it gives me hope and that is the similarity between the Iris and the Rainbow.
G’d wants to give hope for the future. He gives new life to all that call upon Him.
This time a detail of a painting I posted a few months ago.

Last summer we travelled to Toscane. The landscape is sensational.
All the different colors, the beautiful hills, historical villages and kind people.
We really felt at home and blessed to be able to enjoy this part of the Mediterranean.
A doorknocker on an old door in the ancient town Safranbolu in the Black Sea region of Turkey.
It brings up the following verse to me: “Knock and the door will be opened to you”.
That seems simple, but when you want God to speak to you, you need to ask and knock.
He invites you to seek for Him and knock His door. (Matthew 7: 7-12)
Seasons come and go. After winter we look forward to summer.
With Proverbs we can say: “ There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”.
Still many months to go, but warm days will come.
This aquarel shows the water surface in summer and always facinates me.

I made this painting two years ago with oil paint. A very Dutch landscape.
Sheep always remind me of Psalm 23, the shepherd and the sheep.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need”. May you be able to rely on Him.
